Forbidden Stories : Gaza Project
Since 7 October 2023, more than 200 journalists and media workers have been killed in Gaza, making this conflict the deadliest for the press in decades.
Forbidden Stories, an international network of investigative journalists based in Paris, has teamed up with more than 50 reporters from 13 newsrooms around the world to conduct a collaborative investigation into the targeting of reporters in Gaza, the arrests and threats faced by journalists in the West Bank, and the destruction of media infrastructure, such as the AFP offices destroyed in the Hajji tower.
Combining eyewitness accounts, fieldwork, open-source intelligence (OSINT) techniques and photogrammetry, the Gaza Project has uncovered a damning series of evidence that challenges the Israeli government’s denials and questions respect for international humanitarian law in a conflict where information itself has become a target. This exhibition takes you behind the scenes of this investigation.
