Having fled the war, a Syrian family embarks on a harrowing journey to Sweden. At the border between Belarus and Poland, synonymous with entry into Europe, they find themselves mired with dozens of other families in a swampy area, at the mercy of the military’s violent methods.
They gradually realise that they are unwilling hostages in a situation that is beyond them, where everyone – border guards, humanitarian activists, the local population – is trying to play their part…
