Genocide in Gaza: How far will Israel’s impunity go?
A genocide is taking place live on our screens. After months of investigations, evidence gathering and legal analysis, the report ‘We feel like sub-humans’ published by Amnesty International in December 2024 demonstrates that the Israeli authorities are committing the crime of genocide against the Palestinian population of Gaza, with complete impunity and in total disregard for international law. The inaction of states, and even their complicity in this genocide, raises more than ever the question of their commitments, responsibilities and obligations to prevent and stop this crime. By trampling on international law, states are trampling on the mechanisms that protect our human rights and our entire humanity. This round table will address the situation in Gaza through the lens of the failure to uphold the founding principles of international justice.
Moderated by Johann Soufi lawyer specialising in international law law and international justice, and Julia Grignon, professor of international law at Panthéon Assas University.
Discussion moderated by Tchérina Jerolon, Head of the Conflicts, Migration and Justice Programme at Amnesty International France.
