Captured while investigating civilians illegally detained in occupied territories, Ukrainian journalist Viktoriia Roshchyna herself disappeared in Russian prisons. Her body was repatriated in February 2025, four months after her death was officially announced. Forbidden Stories coordinated the work of 45 journalists around the world to pick up the thread of her investigation and publish the Viktoriia Project on 29 April 2025. This round table discussion looks back at the workings of a transnational repressive system and behind the scenes of this collaborative international investigation.
